Datta Infra inks Rs 5,000 crore MoU to develop renewable energy in Rajasthan

Infrastructure  -  Nov 21,2024  -

Datta Power Infra has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to invest Rs 5,000 crore in the Rajasthan's renewable energy sector during the Rising Rajasthan 2024 event.

It underscores the company's commitment to advancing clean energy and supporting India’s sustainable energy transition.

The company plans to establish Rajasthan as a renewable energy hub, focusing on solar, wind, and hybrid power projects across the districts of Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Nagaur, Pratapgarh, and Jodhpur.

The initiative will involve setting up 1,000 MW of renewable energy infrastructure connected to the State Transmission Utility (STU).

This includes projects under the KUSUM scheme, a government initiative promoting decentralised solar power generation. These projects are expected to create between 500 and 750 employment opportunities, contributing to regional economic growth.

The strategic importance of this investment points to aligning it with the company’s long-term objective of increasing its Re portfolio by 30 percent over the next five years.
