Dalmia Bharat begins commercial production at new grinding unit In Assam
Building Materials - Mar 18,2025 -Dalmia Bharat (DBL) has begun commercial production at its expanded 2.4 MTPA cement grinding unit in Lanka, Assam.
This addition raises the company's total cement manufacturing capacity in the Northeast to eight MnT and its overall capacity to 49 MTPA across India. The expansion is part of a Rs 3,642 crore investment announced in May 2023 to enhance market presence and meet growing regional demand.
The integrated clinker unit of 3.6 MnT, linked to this grinding facility, is in the final stages of commissioning and is expected to be operational by Q2/FY26.
With over a decade of presence in the Northeast, Dalmia Bharat operates four cement plants - three in Assam and one in Meghalaya, contributing to major infrastructure projects such as the Dhola-Sadiya Bridge, Sela Tunnel, and Dhuburi-Phulbari Bridge.
The company also prioritises social initiatives in skill development, community welfare, and environmental conservation, reinforcing its commitment to responsible growth.
