Craftsman Automation to invest Rs. 150 crore in new Hosur plant

Automotive Industries  -  Jan 29,2025  -

Craftsman Automation Limited has announced plans to establish a new manufacturing plant at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Shoolagiri, Hosur, with a Rs. 150 crore investment.

This expansion aims to strengthen the company’s foothold in Southern India’s booming automotive manufacturing sector.

The new facility will focus on manufacturing aluminium products for the automotive industry, a growing market in India.

The company plans to finance 90% of the project through term loans, with the remaining funds coming from internal accruals. This strategic investment is expected to increase Craftsman Automation’s production capacity by 15%.

The new plant’s location is within 100-150 kilometers of major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), making it ideally positioned to serve the needs of leading automotive brands

The plant’s proximity to key OEMs will improve supply chain efficiency and strengthen customer relationships. Craftsman’s existing Southern Indian facilities are already operating at 75% capacity, signalling the need for increased production to meet rising demand.
