Charmadi Ghat Expansion Project: Rs 343 crore upgrade for improved connectivity

Infrastructure  -  Nov 12,2024  -

The Charmadi Ghat in Karnataka is set to undergo a major upgrade with an investment of Rs 343 crore. The project, aimed at enhancing road safety and transportation efficiency, will widen and modernize the ghat section, which has long been a critical route connecting the coastal region with the rest of the state.

This expansion will involve significant improvements to the existing infrastructure, including the construction of new roads, tunnels, and bridges, as well as the installation of better drainage systems.

The project is expected to reduce traffic congestion, minimize accidents, and make travel through the ghat smoother and safer for commuters.

The Charmadi Ghat upgrade is part of the government's broader initiative to improve the road network in the region, promoting faster movement of goods and passengers while boosting regional economic development. Once completed, the project will improve connectivity between the coastal and hinterland areas, facilitating better access to key towns and cities in Karnataka.
