Centre Clears ₹4,000 Crore National Highway Projects for Goa, Gadkari Announces
The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has cleared national highway projects worth more than ₹4,000 crore for Goa. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the projects during the inauguration of the new Porvorim elevated corridor.
The key proposals include the widening of the Mollem-Khandepar road stretch and the construction of a new bridge at Borim, with each project estimated to cost around ₹2,000 crore.
Gadkari also said the Centre has accepted Goa's proposal for two additional national highway links: Balli to Betul ONGC, and Karaswada to Sanquelim.
On the Borim bridge, Gadkari said the project will move forward once the Goa government completes the required land acquisition and environmental clearances, after which the Centre will proceed with funding.
