Bosch and Siemens washing machines and refrigerators manufacturer BSH Home Appliances has expanded its facility in Sriperumbudur near Chennai

It has invested Rs 200 crore to set up the second assembly line for manufacturing high-capacity Bosch washing machines in India. From the current 60%, the company plans to increase the localisation up to 70%-75% by 2025.

“We will be rolling out the 9kg-10kg capacity Bosch washing machines in July,” said Saif Khan, MD & CEO of BSH Home Appliances India. Its product category includes dishwashers, refrigerators, washing machines and built-in cooking ranges.

“We have a share of 48% in the Indian dishwasher market. India is an important market for us and we are looking to grow at 20%-25% in this year (CY2024) over CY2023,” he added. While south is the largest market for the company in India with a share of 48%, it is followed by west and northern regions at 24% and 22%, respectively.
