Board of Indian Oil Corporation approves construction of greenfield terminal at Bihta, Patna

Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) has been granted Stage-1 approval for construction of greenfield terminal at Bihta in Patna, Bihar.

The company's Board at its meeting held on 30 July 2024 has accorded approval for the terminal at Bihta on Barauni-Kanpur product pipeline (BKPL) and Patna-Motihari-Baitalpur pipeline (PMBPL) at an estimated cost of Rs 1,698.67 crore.

This involves the combined re-sitement of the existing marketing terminal and pipeline pump station in Patna and for undertaking pre-project activities related thereto.

IOCL's product pipelines in the eastern region viz. Haldia- Barauni Pipeline (HBPL), Barauni-Kanpur Pipeline (BKPL) and Haldia-Mourigram- Rajbandh Pipeline (HMRPL) are for the supply of petroleum products in West Bengal, UP, Bihar and Jharkhand.
