The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has cleared several urban infrastructure proposals during its 152nd Authority Meeting, covering transport, sanitation and commercial infrastructure in the city.

Among the approved projects is a shaded cycle track and footpath along the Left Parallel Road from Ekamra Kanan Junction to Hatiasuni, a corridor with heavy pedestrian and cyclist movement that currently lacks shaded infrastructure. The project is intended to support safe and sustainable non-motorised transport.

The Authority also approved a 10 KLD sewage treatment plant (STP) at Drain No. 4 near Vani Vihar, to be developed on a pilot basis to improve wastewater management in the area.

Separately, the redevelopment of the Priyadarshini Market Complex at CRP Square was sanctioned, aimed at modernising the ageing commercial hub and improving facilities for traders and visitors.

The BDA additionally approved multiple Town Planning Schemes covering the villages of Malipada, Daspur, Bijipur, Baliapada, Kasipur, Bhagabanpur and Patrapada, intended to guide planned urban expansion in these areas. No investment sizes were disclosed for the approved projects.
