West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that 188 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) and Letters of Intent (LoIs) were signed during the two-day Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS)
She also stated that investment offers worth Rs 3.76 lakh crore were received.
“The seventh edition of Bengal Global Business Summit has come to an end today with fabulous pledges for investments in Bengal from the captains of industry… We have received 188 MoUs and LoIs signed during the summit, covering numerous sectors, and many are in the process of tie-ups. We have received investment proposals worth more than Rs 3,76,288 crore,” said Banerjee at the valedictory session of the annual business summit in Kolkata.
Some of the major investments announced are Rs 4,000 crore in IT and ITeS, Rs 1,314 crore in the agri and allied sector, Rs 7,933 crore in the healthcare sector over three years, and Rs 1,000 crore for a phosphatic fertilizer plant, among several others.
