At its Bathinda facility in Punjab, BCL Industries Limited has successfully completed a brownfield expansion project, bringing the distillery's capacity to 400 thousand litres per day (KLPD) of ethanol.
The business has also started up a 10 MW power plant that will run on rice straw as fuel.
According to the information provided by ICN, BCL Industries has taken the initiative to guarantee a consistent supply of paddy straw through December 2023 and has already negotiated contracts for that period.
The distillery business is anticipated to have decreased fuel costs as a result of this strategic shift. This extension project has a total capital cost of Rs 220 crore.
