Banas Dairy, Suzuki and NDDB ink MoU to establish Biogas Plants in Gujarat

Banas Dairy signed a three-party agreement to build animal dung-based Biogas Production Plants with Suzuki R&D Centre India Private Limited (SRDI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation in India, and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).

According to the deal, four biogas plants would be developed in Gujarat's Banaskantha district in the first phase by 2025. This number of plants can be increased if all parties agree to do so.

With a total expenditure of roughly 230 crore, these plants will help to reduce pollution and provide green and clean energy.

Additionally, biogas filling stations will be erected alongside each plant to supply fuel for CNG vehicles, as well as organic fertiliser production facilities.

The contract was signed at the Embassy of India in Tokyo, Japan, in the presence of Sibi George, the Ambassador of India to Japan, along with T Suzuki, President, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, ShankarbhaiChaudhry, Speaker of Gujarat State Assembly & Chairman- Banas Dairy, Meenesh Shah, Chairman- NDDB, JayenMehata, Managing Director- GCMMF-Amul and SangramChaudhary, Managing Director- Banas dairy.
