Aster DM Healthcare to establish 55-acre solar project to power seven hospitals in Kerala

Hospitality and Healthcare  -  Dec 28,2023  -

Aster DM Healthcare has announced that it is planning to construct a solar plant spanning 55 acres in Kasargod, aimed at powering seven hospitals across Kerala state.

As part of the company’s sustainable healthcare practices, the project is expected to produce 10MW of power. The first phase of the initiative, covering a 27-acre plot, is slated for completion by March 2024.

The company said, "Upon its inauguration, it will supply clean, cost-effective power to the esteemed Aster MIMS Cluster, encompassing hospitals in Calicut, Kannur, Kottakal, and Areekode."

This move is anticipated to result in annual savings of approximately Rs 3 crore, “underscoring Aster's commitment to both environmental sustainability and fiscal prudence.”

The solar plant is projected to scale up its power generation capacity to an additional 10MW, with an aim of supplying energy to Aster Medcity in Kochi and Aster PMF in Kollam.
