AM/NS India to launch two advanced production lines in Gujarat

Automotive Industries  -  Jan 20,2025  -

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India announced that it will launch two production lines at its Hazira facility in Gujarat this year to manufacture advanced automotive steel products.

This initiative aims to reduce the reliance on imports of high-end steel for the automotive industry and support the government’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ vision.

Some products currently manufactured internationally will also be produced in India for the first time.

The new production lines—the Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL) and the Continuous Galvanizing and Annealing Line (CGAL)—will leverage the technical expertise of the parent companies and are expected to be fully operational by 2025.

These facilities will be part of the Cold Rolling Mill 2 (CRM2) complex at the company’s flagship Hazira plant in Gujarat.

The expansion is designed to meet the rising demand for high-quality automotive steel in India.
