Ambuja Cements to invest Rs 1,600-crore in Bihar for grinding unit

Ambuja Cements, owned by Adani Cement, plans to invest Rs 1,600 crore in Bihar for a cement grinding unit. The Warisaliganj unit with an overall capacity of six MTPA will meet the growing infrastructure needs of the state.

The project will be located in Mosama village, Warisaliganj tehsil in Nawada district of Bihar and the site is well-connected by road and rail network.

The project will be implemented in three phases, and in the first phase of 2.4 MTPA, with an investment of Rs 1,100 crore is targeted to be commissioned by December 2025.

Moreover, with adequate land for future expansion in place, it will be commissioned in due course at a much lower capex.

It has the potential to create 250 direct employment and 1,000 indirect work opportunities. Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has already allotted 67.90 acres of land for this cement unit for which environmental clearance (EC) has been obtained for work on the site.

Additionally, another cement unit is in the pipeline for Muzaffarpur.
