Airport to come up at Paradip with Rs 200 crore investment

Union Minister Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has announced that the port city of Paradip will get an airport, which will be constructed with an investment of Rs 200 crore.

Also, work on the 111-km six-lane Bhubaneswar ring road to reduce commute time for residents of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Khurda costing Rs 6,500 crore will be initiated in October, 2024.

Also, a road from Tangi to Digha will be constructed. Two signature bridges will be built over Chilika lake under Bharatmala project for which detailed project reports (DPRs) are under preparation.

Additionally, the Union Minister disclosed plans to commence construction on the proposed 35-km four-lane greenfield ring road in Sambalpur, costing Rs 1,333 crore, in October. This project will alleviate traffic congestion between Rourkela and Cuttack.

The Minister further informed that projects worth Rs three lakh crore have been sanctioned for the state.

While the 465 km Raipur-Visakhapatnam economic corridor being developed with an outlay of Rs 25,000 crore is nearing completion, DPR preparation is underway for the 450 km portion of the Mumbai-Kolkata Expressway.
