The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) has awarded consultancy provider CBRE South Asia Private Limited the contract for preparing a Techno Economic Feasibility report for setting up an Aerospace Industrial Park at Sulur, Coimbatore.

Tamil Nadu is the first defence corridor announced by Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

It comprises Coimbatore, Salem, Trichy, Hosur and Chennai. The State has huge opportunities to contribute to the nation's requirements in the two said sectors.

In order to make it contribute to those requirements, the Tamil Nadu Government is taking various steps to strengthen the Tamil Nadu Defence Corridor and the industries.

In May last year, Krishnamoorthy, Project Director, TIDCO during his visit to Coimbatore shared that two types of Industrial Parks are planned for Coimbatore by the State; one would be a defence industrial park at Varapatti village and the other would be an Aerospace park near Sulur.
