36 railway projects worth Rs 30,789 crore underway in Gujarat: Railways Minister

A total of 36 railway development projects totaling 3,200 km in length and costing Rs 30,789 crore fall entirely or partially within the state of Gujarat. There have been 26 projects approved since 2018.

This information was supplied by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Communications, and Electronics and Information Technology, in Rajya Sabha in response to a question during the ongoing Monsoon session of Parliament.

The government reply stated, As on 01.04.2023, 36 Railway infrastructure projects (6 New Line, 18 Gauge Conversion and 12 Doubling), covering total length of 3,200 Km at a cost of Rs 30,789 crore falling fully/partly in the State of Gujarat, including new railway projects sanctioned since 2018, are in planning/ approval/ construction stage, out of which 735 Km length has been commissioned and an expenditure of Rs 6,113 crores incurred upto March, 2023.
