Uttar Pradesh’s 296-kilometer-long Bundelkhand Expressway will be opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 16.
The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority is in charge of carrying out the project (UPEIDA).
The Bundelkhand Expressway will be opened, bringing the total length of expressways in Uttar Pradesh to a massive 1,225 km.
The Yamuna Expressway, the Purvanchal Expressway, the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway are the five expressways that are now in use in Uttar Pradesh.
Just a few months after assuming office for the first time, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath proposed the Bundelkhand Expressway in April 2017. On February 29, 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the expressway’s foundation stone.
Despite two waves of Covid-19 induced restrictions and a severe rainy season in 2021, the Uttar Pradesh government has completed Bundelkhand Expressway within 29 months since laying the foundation.
