CMRL to start work on elevated corridor near Koyambedu in Chennai soon

Development on an elevated corridor at Kaliamman Koil Street near Koyambedu, considered one of the most difficult places, might begin shortly.

CMRL may remove the front parts of a few buildings to create space for raised viaducts in the middle of the road, which is one of the narrowest and has a lot of traffic.

According to the full project study, the building of the metro rail line on this segment may harm a total of 29 structures. This consists of two residential and twenty-one business structures.

According to the study, the road would be enlarged from 8-10 metres to 24-27 metres. Kaliamman Koil Street is part of the 47-kilometer-long corridor-5 of the 118.9-kilometer-long phase-2 from Madhavaram to Sholinganallur.
