According to a top business executive, Power Global, a US-based sustainable energy and mobility goods start-up, aims to spend about USD 25 million (around Rs 185 crore) in India over the next two to three years to establish a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility and battery swapping infrastructure.
The business, which is constructing a one gigatonne-hour battery facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, also plans to convert around 8 million existing conventional three-wheelers in India to electric ones.
Power Global’s India Subsidiary CEO Pankaj Dubey said,”We are setting up a (battery) factory now in Greater Noida. This would be a one gigawatt hour capacity plant…With this about 4 lakh batteries would be rolled out from this factory per annum.”
