YEIDA to announce tender for construction of MRO facility at Jewar airport

Infrastructure  -  Oct 12,2023  -

The Yamuna Motorway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is expected to announce a global tender for the construction of an aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at the future Noida International Airport in Jewar, according to officials with knowledge of the situation.

According to them, the second phase of the airport project is acquiring land for Jewar Airport in order to build the MRO facility and a special runway for it.

They claimed that the remaining property will be bought soon, and that roughly 60% of the project's total area has already been purchased. The second phase of the airport project will need the purchase of 1,365 hectares of land in total.

Officials also said that the land allotment process for this purpose is likely to begin by the end of the year.

A YEIDA official said that the land acquisition work under the second phase has been expedited.

“Out of 1,365 hectares, nearly 814 hectares of land have already been acquired, which is around 60 percent of the targeted land under the second phase. This land will be used for setting up the MRO facility and a dedicated runway. A global tender for developing the MRO facility is likely to be floated by the end of October,” the official said.
