The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) announced plans to acquire 6,000 hectares of agricultural land to develop a new city near the Noida International Airport, enhancing connectivity and infrastructure along the Yamuna Expressway.
YEIDA has allocated Rs 140 billion for the acquisition of 6,065 hectares of land over the next two years.
This land will be used to create new sectors and essential civic amenities such as roads, sewers, parks, and industrial areas. Out of the total land required, 1,609 hectares will be acquired directly from farmers through mutual agreement, 4,076 hectares will be obtained through the land acquisition process, and the remaining 380 hectares, belonging to the government, will be reclaimed.
YEIDA plans to acquire land from 40 villages using various methods, including direct purchase from farmers. The land includes 994 hectares in Rabupura, 479 hectares in Tirthali, and smaller parcels in other villages.
The new sectors designated for development are numbered 5 to 11, and land acquisition will also cover the remaining areas in Sectors 22E, 28, 29, 32, and 33.
Additionally, 712 hectares will be acquired for the Tappal-Bajna Urban Centre, and 528 hectares in Dorpuri and Syarol villages will be used for a logistic park.
