VST Tillers plans a Rs 100-crore global tech centre in Hosur

Infrastructure  -  Sep 03,2024  -

VST Tillers & Tractors is set to enhance its research and development (R&D) capabilities with the setting up of a global tech centre in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. It will invest Rs 100 crore to establish the global R&D centre in a phased manner.

This new tech centre will accelerate its EV innovation drive, develop proprietary technologies, testing capabilities and even foster international collaborations.

It will serve as the company’s primary R&D hub, focusing on electric powertrains, battery technologies and advanced driver assistance systems in electric vehicles.

Over the past three-four years, VST has already invested Rs 100 crore, and these ongoing investments will allow the introduction of advanced solutions tailored to the evolving needs of farmers. The Bengaluru-headquartered company is working on at least 10 new products including electric vehicle (EV) models.

VST has a presence in over 40 countries, including Europe, Asia and Africa, and in April, it incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary, VST Americas to address the needs of the US market in the tractor and farm machinery segment.
