Infrastructure  -  Nov 11,2024  -

Vedanta Ltd has announced an extensive expansion plan involving an investment of Rs 17,025 crore, aimed at enhancing its aluminium and power business units. The company's board has given the green light to this initiative, which includes increasing production capacities and improving operational efficiencies.

In the aluminium sector, Vedanta plans to augment its existing capacity. This will involve expanding its aluminium smelting operations and associated facilities to meet growing demand, as well as bolstering its value-added products line. The focus is on leveraging advanced technology to improve productivity and sustainability in the long term.

For the power division, Vedanta intends to expand its thermal power generation capacity. The company aims to ensure a steady and reliable power supply to its aluminium production units while also contributing to the overall energy infrastructure.

The expansion is expected to have a significant impact on Vedanta's bottom line, contributing to both volume growth and operational excellence. The move aligns with Vedanta's broader strategy of maintaining leadership in the Indian metals and mining sector, while also boosting its portfolio of energy and industrial assets.

The approval of this expansion plan is seen as part of Vedanta’s long-term strategy to enhance shareholder value and establish a more diversified, sustainable business model.
