Multi-super specialty hospital firm Trustwell Hospitals in Benglauru has plans for expansion. With the addition of 100 new beds, it aims to become a 250-bed hospital.

This expansion would require an investment of Rs 25 crore, and the hospital plans to introduce new specialties and two additional units in South Bengaluru.

The 1.30 lakh-square foot facility was a large retail outlet earlier which paved the way for the present hospital. The hospital succeeded where the retail venture failed. The hospital is EBITDA positive and is yet to make profits at the net level, a top executive said.

“Trustwell Hospital is a unique venture where the people who understand the needs of a patient are also the ones running it,” chairman Dr HV Madhusudhan said in a statement. The current lead team of doctors come with a combined experience of over 200 years. The hospital has a team of about 90 doctors and has invested Rs 100 crore, the executive added.

The new 100 beds will be added across specialities including radiation oncology, Pet CT scan, heart & lung transplant, robotic surgery, haematology & bone marrow transplants.
