Texmaco Rail and Engineering intends to venture into the passenger mobility sector, particularly in the production of metro coaches, in the upcoming financial year.
The company, headquartered in Kolkata and recognized for creating metro rail components and providing them to numerous global clients, is currently exploring organic and inorganic options for producing passenger coaches.
Texmaco Rail became the largest wagon manufacturer in India after acquiring Jindal Rail Infrastructure in July of the previous year for approximately Rs 615 crore. Significantly, last year Texmaco Rail & Engineering purchased Saira Asia, which was entirely owned by a European firm. Saira creates luxury railway interiors.
The total revenue from operations for the company amounted to Rs1,326 crore in the third quarter of this fiscal year, marking a growth of 47. 9 percent compared to the equivalent period last year.
The EBITDA for the quarter reached Rs 139 crore, which represents a 51. 7 percent increase year-over-year, along with an EBITDA margin of 10. 5 percent.
