Tesla intends to build and sell battery storage systems in India. The brand has submitted a proposal to government officials, requesting incentives to create a manufacturing plant.
Tesla representatives recently met in New Delhi and offered to improve India's battery storage capacities by introducing its Powerwall technology.
The technology is intended to store electricity generated by solar panels or the grid for later consumption, especially at night or during power disruptions.
According to Business Today, while Tesla is seeking various advantages for the creation of a battery storage factory, Indian officials have suggested that the government will determine whether to offer such incentives.
However, the government is willing to facilitate a fair business environment for the company by providing subsidies to consumers who purchase such products.
