A tender for the engagement of a consultant to conduct a feasibility study and create a detailed project report (DPR) for a stand-alone pumped-storage hydropower project at the Ukai Dam Reservoir in Gujarat's Tapi district has been released by the Gujarat State Electricity Corporation (GSECL).

The freestanding pumped storage part of the Ukai PSP calls for the construction of an upper and lower reservoir close to the hamlet, with the lower reservoir being filled once with water from the adjacent existing Ukai reservoir.

The deadline for proposal submissions is July 31, 2023.
