Food Processing  -  Feb 14,2025  -

Swiss packaging company SIG has opened the first phase of its aseptic carton production facility near Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

The new facility has reportedly seen an investment of $93 million.

SIG’s Ahmedabad plant will produce carton packs to meet the needs of the company’s clients in the dairy and non-carbonated soft drink sectors.

Among SIG’s notable clients are Amul, Milky Mist, Heritage, Parle Agro, ITC, and Pepsi.

Additionally, SIG has outlined plans for the aseptic carton plant’s second phase, with an additional investment of $93 million earmarked for development.

In future phases, SIG proposes expansions aimed at further boosting the site’s production capacity to ten billion cartons yearly.

Since its entry into the Indian market in 2018, SIG has seen a swift expansion of its business operations, culminating in robust double-digit revenue growth in 2024.

SIG India, Middle East, and Africa president and general manager Abdelghany Eladib said, “This is our first aseptic carton plant in India and the tenth in the world. It has a capacity for printing and finishing four billion carton packs per annum and will employ about 300 persons.
