PM Modi inaugurates and lays foundation for over Rs 11,200 crore projects in Maharashtra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone, inaugurated, and dedicated various projects in Maharashtra worth over 11,200 crore rupees via video conferencing. He inaugurated the Pune Metro section from the District Court to Swargate, marking the completion of Phase I of the Pune Metro Rail Project.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the Swargate-Katraj Extension of the Pune Metro. Addressing the occasion, he highlighted various projects and stated that Pune, the land of inspiration for great personalities, is witnessing a new chapter in Maharashtra’s development. He emphasised the need to make cities like Pune centres of progress and urban development.
 
The Prime Minister dedicated the Bidkin Industrial Area in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district to the nation, highlighting its potential to attract significant investments and create employment opportunities in the region.

He also inaugurated Solapur Airport, describing it as a special gift to devotees of Lord Vitthal and noting that it would boost businesses, industries, and tourism.

Modi stressed that Maharashtra needs ambitious goals coupled with new resolutions. He reiterated that modernisation should be grounded in the country’s core values, emphasising that India will modernise and develop while honouring its rich heritage.

The Prime Minister underscored the pivotal role of women’s leadership in societal transformation.

He paid tribute to Maharashtra’s legacy of women’s empowerment, particularly the efforts of Savitribai Phule, who initiated the movement for women’s education.
