Petronet LNG inks binding transaction documents with Gopalpur Ports

Petronet LNG Ltd has executed binding Transaction Documents viz. (a) Sub-Concession Agreement (b) Sub-Lease deed and (c) Port Service Agreement with M/s Gopalpur Ports Limited on 27.12.2023 for setting up of Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) based LNG terminal with capacity of ~4 MMTPA (Phase-1), with provision for converting to 5 MMTPA land-based terminal at Gopalpur Port, District - Ganjam, Odisha.

Petronet LNG Ltd is actively engaged in the development of its inaugural LNG terminal on the east coast of India, situated at Gopalpur in Ganjam District, Odisha. The proposed facility is expected to contribute significantly to the overall regasification capacity in the country, aligning with the broader vision of fostering a gas-based economy.

This strategic collaboration and the subsequent establishment of the LNG terminal at Gopalpur mark a crucial step in enhancing the country's energy infrastructure and furthering the adoption of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a cleaner and more sustainable energy source
