Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) is establishing a common effluent treatment plant (CEPT) of 5.2 MLD capacity costing Rs 24.6 crore at Vikram Udyogpuri in Ujjain.
MPIDC Indore executive director Rajesh Rathod said, "Construction of the CEPT aligns with the corporation's commitment to promoting eco-friendly industrial processes and reducing environmental impact of industrial activities. With the setting up of the CEPT, the coproration aims to create a more environmentally conscious industrial landscape in Ujjain, paving the way for a cleaner and greener future for the region."
"The anticipated generation of effluents from industries in Vikram Udyogpuri is around 3-4 MLD. The new facility will have the capacity of 5.2 MLD and will provide a means for industries to properly dispose of their effluents," said Rathod.
Within the Vikram Udyogpuri industrial area, a total of 58 industries have secured space, with 6 of them already commencing operations.
The CEPT is seen as a crucial step towards ensuring proper waste management practices within the industrial zone, said industrialists.
