Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt Ltd has established its manufacturing plant in Talegaon area with over Rs 200 crore investment.
The company has already recruited 100 employees, mostly locals, and has a plan to recruit 500 employees in the future which has come as a joyous news to the residents.
The manufacturing plant was inaugurated at Badhalawadi village, which is located a few kilometres from Talegaon.
The overall manufacturing facility measures 40,000 square metres with an initial built up of 15,400 square metres. Operation will be begin in the plant from January 2024.
Hisahiro Nishimoto, Group Vice President, Industry and Mobility Area (IMBA), Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan and Tomohiro Yoshida, Director and Factory Automation Division Head, Mitsubishi Electric India were present on the occasion.
Yoshida said, ”This new manufacturing plant has opened the avenues for a shift from importing FA (Factory Automation) products to local manufacturing which would potentially lead to cost-efficiency and optimisation. Local manufacturing often reduces transportation costs, import duties, and other expenses associated with imports. Additionally, it may create job opportunities in the local market. However, the extent to this cost optimisation may result in more competitive prices for consumers of Factory Automation products.”
