Hero Future Energies intends to enter the green hydrogen manufacturing market. The company currently has a portfolio of about 1.8 GW of wind and solar energy facilities.
The company has been working on this idea for the past two years, according to SrivatsanIyer, the global chief executive officer of Hero Future Energies, and hopes to start project development in the upcoming months.
Iyer said the first project might be in a situation where hydrogen is already being used.
Iyer stressed that some parts of India have the capacity for commercial hydrogen generation and consumption.
The company’s priority is to gain confidence in the technology before moving forward with implementation.
Apart from Indian interests, Hero Future Energies is also exploring opportunities overseas.
The company recently secured a letter of award in Bangladesh for a project involving the creation of an artificial water body for fishing, along with a 50 MW solar plant atop it.
