Godavari Biorefineries (GBL), a leading renewable chemicals and biofuels manufacturer, has entered into a strategic international license agreement with Catalyxx Inc., securing exclusive rights to leverage Catalyxx's advanced technology.
This breakthrough technology enables the conversion of ethanol into biobutanol and other higher alcohols, in a step toward sustainable industrial solutions. Under the agreement, Godavari will be able to produce up to 30,000 tonne of biobutanol annually in India, targeting both domestic and international markets.
In the initial phase, the company will establish a facility capable of producing 15,000 tonne of biobutanol and higher alcohols annually. This initiative will expand Godavari's product portfolio while positioning it as a key player in the global bio-based chemicals segment.
The collaboration underscores a shared commitment between Godavari Biorefineries and Catalyxx Inc. to advancing the green transition and promoting bio-based alternatives.
By enhancing sustainability and decarbonisation efforts, this partnership highlights the pivotal role of innovative technologies in addressing global environmental challenges.
