Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation is planning to build a garbage to energy plant in the Galand region, which would be a major step towards sustainable garbage management.
As instructed by the government, the municipality has acquired 35 acres of land for the project.
The land was purchased from the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) and is essential to the setting of the plant.
This creative project seeks to address the thousands of metric tonnes of waste that Ghaziabad city produces every day.
The Waste to Energy Plant project has entrusted the task to GC International, a Netherlands-based company specializing in generating electricity from waste.
The company has secured the tender for the plant, leveraging its expertise in waste-to-energy technology.
Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the Uttar Pradesh government, GC International is committed to generating 45 MW of electricity daily from the processed garbage.
