Bharat Coal Gasification & Chemicals (BCGCL) has been incorporated as a private limited company on 21 May, 2024. It is a subsidiary of Coal India (CIL) in which CIL holds 51 percent and BHEL holds 49 percent.

The authorised capital is Rs 11 crore. The JV firm will be engaged in the business of coal gasification to produce syn-gas, ammonia and nitric acid as intermediate products, and ammonium nitrate as the end product.

The clearance of NITI Aayog and DIPAM have been received for formation of the JV company between CIL and BHEL.
