Maharashtra Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced that the US helicopter manufacturer Bell Textron is keen to start services in Maharashtra by deploying choppers for use in medical emergencies, disaster management and law enforcement, Fadnavis said he recently met Steve Soliz, the global head (emergency services) of Bell Textron (formerly Bell Helicopters) and Wing Commander (retd) Shriram Ghatpande, the country head for Bell India.
Fadnavis added that Bell is also evaluating options for setting a manufacturing facility in the country through their Indian partner Max Aerospace.
Earlier, Fadnavis had said that the state is keen on deploying helicopters for health services, disaster management and law enforcement.
Nagpur seems to be on top of their chart because an ecosystem for the aerospace sector already exists in Mihan.
