Metallurgical Industries  -  Sep 19,2024  -

Balkrishna Industries has announced the successful completion of its capital expenditure (capex) for a new plant with a capacity of 30,000 MTPA of high-value advanced carbon material.

In February 2021, the company's board approved plans to increase its carbon production capacity from an achievable 115,000 MTPA to 200,000 MTPA. This initiative included the establishment of the new 30,000 MTPA facility and an additional 20 MW power plant, with a total estimated project cost of ₹650 crore.

Balkrishna Industries specializes in the manufacturing and sale of off-highway tires (OHT) across various segments, including agricultural, industrial, construction, earthmover, port, mining, forestry, lawn and garden, and all-terrain vehicles (ATV). The project was developed in response to the overall demand and supply dynamics as well as the internal requirements for carbon black.
