Infrastructure  -  Oct 09,2024  -

Avaada Group has laid the foundation stone for its new manufacturing facility worth Rs 13,650 crore at the Addl. Butibori Industrial Park in Nagpur.

The project is aligned to enhancing India’s renewable energy capabilities, will create over 5,000  work opportunities and play a crucial role in the country’s target to reduce carbon emissions by 50 percent by 2030.

The facility, inaugurated by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, will focus on solar value chain, including ingot-wafer, PV cells, and modules.

In addition, it will produce next-generation batteries and electrolysers. Avaada also plans to establish ancillary units for components like module glass and aluminum frames, generating 1,000 more in terms of employment.

In the first phase, Avaada will set up the wafer-to-module project with a planned capacity of five GW for solar cells and three GW for modules.

These cells will support the company’s existing Dadri module plant, using TOPCon cell technology for production of high-efficiency cells and modules.
