Manufacturing  -  Aug 28,2023  -

The Atlas Copco Group has started building a new manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Pune. The group is a global leader in compressors, vacuum solutions, generators, pumps, power tools and assembly systems.

In Talegaon, Atlas Copco has opened a brand-new, cutting-edge factory that will produce air and gas compressor systems for both the domestic market and export.

It consists of an office block and a manufacturing facility covering a combined area of about 270,000 square feet, with a proposed investment of MINR 1400 (about MEUR 15.0).

By Q2 2024, the new facility is anticipated to be finished. Over 200 people will gain new jobs as a result, and production capacity will increase.

At the Talegaon facility, approximately 80 per cent of the energy will be sourced from solar panels, and three-fourths of the water consumption will be fulfilled through rainwater harvesting. The construction will align with the LEED (Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design) principles.

Philippe Ernens, President, Oil Free Air division, Atlas Copco, emphasised the investment’s aim to meet rising demand in Indian and export markets. The expansion aligns with the strategy to maintain customer preference, opening doors to new markets and improved delivery times.
