AM Green Ammonia India has signed a binding power purchase agreement (PPA) with green energy solutions provider Gentari through its subsidiary, Gentari Renewables India Castor One.
Gentari will supply 650 MW round-the-clock (RTC), carbon-free energy to power AMG Ammonia’s upcoming green ammonia facilities as part of the long-term PPA.
Gentari will set up approx. 2400 MWp of RE capacity, comprising both solar and wind in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
As the single largest greenfield project by Gentari globally, Gentari will integrate this with 350 MW/2100 MWh energy storage to supply firm and dispatchable green power to AMG Ammonia’s facilities.
The solar project will be constructed at a single location, though the wind projects will be spread across multiple locations connected through the ISTS network.
AMG Ammonia is developing one of the world’s largest green ammonia platforms, with a target to achieve five million tpa by 2030 towards achieving net zero targets both in India and OECD markets.
This output will be equivalent to approx. one MTPA of green hydrogen, accounting for one-fifth of India’s target for green hydrogen production under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
