Wipro GE Healthcare has announced the opening of a new manufacturing plant under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme of the Indian government.
Wipro GE Medical Device Production Factory (MDM) is a new plant that is associated with the National Agenda of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and will increase local medical device manufacturing in India.
The facility is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wipro GE Healthcare and was built from the ground up. This facility cost the corporation a bit more than Rs 100 crore.
The MDM plant, which spans 35,000 square feet, is geared up to produce CT machines, cathlab equipment, ultrasound scanners, patient monitoring systems, ECG machines, and ventilators 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
