According to MD V. Noushad, Walkaroo International would invest in a new facility in Rajasthan this fiscal year to produce printed flip flops and hawai footwear.
The factory would have a total capacity of more than one lakh pairs per day, with an initial capacity of 60,000 pairs per day.
“The potential is very high for this segment of footwear,” he said.
Walkaroo, which had a total sales of 1,850 crore in FY22, plans to invest 75 crore in the Rajasthan factory over the next two years. It now has 12 locations around the country. In the current fiscal year, the firm forecasts a 20% increase in sales and is looking into the possibility of opening a facility in Africa. Noushad said the company has a facility in Bangladesh and plans to grow capacity there as well.
