A second manufacturing facility in India will be created by the US-based automobile cockpit electronic systems manufacturer Visteon Corporation with a focus on the country’s western and northern regions.
In addition, it has ambitions to expand its current manufacturing facility in Chennai.
“We are contemplating about looking at a second plant in India, where we will have the advantage of geographic proximity to the customers in the western belt or the northern belt,” said Aashish Bhatia, vice president and general manager, Visteon.
The Visteon Corporation intends to begin producing vehicle displays at its Chennai facility in 2023, according to media sources. The business provides sensors, infotainment systems, instrument clusters, and other electronic cockpit components to original equipment manufacturers.
