Vikram Solar, a solar module manufacturer, plans to increase manufacturing capacity from 2.5 GW to 6.3 GW during the next two years.
As part of its development strategy, the business is building a new solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu with a capacity of 2 GW.
With a solar cell production capability of 2 GW, the plant will be backward integrated. The business already has a facility with a 1.3 GW production capacity at the site in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu.
It also operates a 1.2 GW plant at Falta, West Bengal, and is now constructing 1.8 GW capacity to bring the state’s total capacity to 3 GW.
