A capacity extension of Rs. 50 crore for a larger diameter Tube Mill to produce stainless steel welded pipes has been sanctioned by Venus Pipes & Tubes Ltd, a prominent manufacturer of stainless pipes and tubes. With a capacity of 700 mt per month, this new line will expand the existing welded pipe offering to a maximum 20″ inch (508mm) diameter and thickness up to SCH80s.
Commercial production is anticipated to begin in Q1 of FY24, and the project will be funded in part through a combination of debt (term loan) and internal accruals.
To support the larger dia. welded pipe process, the proposed extension will comprise a tube mill together with the whole finishing infrastructure, such as an annealing furnace, a pickling and passivation setup, high end testing, etc.
