The Vedanta Group stated that it has inked Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of an electronics manufacturing hub in India with 20 Korean display glass companies.
Vedanta was invited to a roadshow at the just finished Korea Biz-Trade Show 2023 event, which was put on by KOTRA, the government of South Korea’s organisation for promoting trade and investment, in conjunction with the ministry of trade, industry, and energy of that country.
The proposals for the establishment of an Indian display fab were outlined by Akarsh K. Hebbar, global managing director of Vedanta’s semiconductor and display business.
He asked potential collaborators and clients to join Vedanta in creating an electronics hub that would be supported by advantageous government regulations.
“More than 50 companies have shown their interest in partnering with us and we are pleased to announce that we have signed MoUs with 20 Korean companies engaged in the electronics manufacturing value chain,” said Akarsh K. Hebbar.
