According to V.O. Chidambaranar Port chairman T.K. Ramachandran, the port is making preparations to run cruise ships between Kanniyakumari and Rameswaram through Thoothukudi.
In an interview with reporters, Ramachandran said that the action was part of the Union government’s ‘Sagarmala Scheme’ tourist development operations.
Located in Thoothukudi and operated by the Indian government, V.O. Chidambaranar Port is one of the important harbours in south India.
