In Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone for national highway projects worth Rs 14,169 crore. In a statement, the road ministry claimed that the building of the Mathura-Hathras-Budaun-Bareilly Highway will tackle connectivity and traffic difficulties at pilgrimage and tourist sites.
Virtually, the foundation stone for ten national highway projects totaling 336 kilometres was placed.
It went on to say that the city of Agra will be free of traffic jams once a bypass connecting the Agra Inner Ring Road and the Yamuna Expressway is built.
